THE FIRST OFFICIAL CLASS: Albert, Inari, Malik, KhafrE, erykah

"CLASS OF 2017"

The first Collective Gallery class was a success to say the least. Not only was the school sponsored by Lugz and Samsung, but the students had many opportunities to learn and grow throughout the summer. They photographed Sonny Digital in the studio, as well as Metro Boomin for the "Behind the Stripes" series with Atlanta United. A few of our students are working with the likes of Young Jeezy, Zaytoven, Rich Homie Quan, Marbek London and more.

GRAMMY NOMINATED PRODUCER SONNY DIGITAL VISITS THE CLASS

The Collective Gallery summer school students received a surprise visit from Atlanta’s own super producer Sonny Digital. Despite his hectic schedule as a major producer, DJ, and rapper, he still made time to stop by and catch up with his long time friend Cam Kirk, and drop some knowledge on our students. As both a successful producer and artist, he shared his unique perspective on wearing multiple hats in this competitive industry. The students also got the opportunity to photograph Sonny to build their portfolio using the skills they learned over the summer. The students each got 15 minutes to capture him in their unique style on the same red backdrop. All the while, Revolt TV was there to film the moment and interview Cam about his experience teaching at Collective Gallery. Huge thanks to Sonny Digital for coming through and sharing some wisdom about the industry!

OUR ASSISTANT TEACHER, KEENAN LITMON, with our students photographing the atlanta united game

Just like any other school, Collective Gallery enjoyed field trips out in the city over the summer. One of the most exciting trips was an Atlanta United FC soccer game. The students had no idea where they were heading on the ride there; they were only told to bring their cameras and be ready to work. Several students had never attended a soccer game before, let alone shoot the scene from the field! One of our students, Albert Palathinkal, shared that he wasn’t really into soccer before, but now he’s a life-long fan. The highlight of the day was when super star producer Metro Boomin took to the field to strike the Golden Spike. Not only did the students get to take pictures of the epic moment, they also got the chance to meet Metro in his VIP suite. The overall experience to shoot the players, fans, and legends right from the field was exhilarating. The students did an exceptional job capturing the event and were invited back to shoot the open house training at the brand new Mercedes Benz Stadium. Atlanta United players even reposted some of the photos our students snapped on social media.
